Global Business Brigades seek to create sustainable economic development solutions to improve the overall socio-economic level of under-resourced communities. The Business program methodology consists of three primary support pillars: providing access to financial resources via the creation of a community based credit & savings cooperative, financial literacy education, and micro-enterprise development & counseling.

Volunteers will:

  • Work with community bank loan officers to consult potential borrowers
  • Provide educational, financial, and organizational resources necessary for sustainability
  • Provide consulting on basic business practices such customer service, marketing, accounting and increasing efficiency of operations

Each volunteer’s role during the Business Brigade will vary based on the business background and skill of the volunteer. Regardless of the skill of volunteer, each volunteer is able to meet with various borrowers and select which business they would like their “capital investment” donation to be loaned to.
